Website updates are complete as of right now

Hello everyone, I just updated the menu for About Us and some other Privacy related changes.  If you run into any issues, please post those concerns, issues and questions here at the blog.  Remember that because I am doing hundreds of updates a week you should empty your caches for the website and click refresh often.  On a Mac, to FORCE a refresh of everything press the COMMAND key, the SHIFT key and the letter R on your Keyboard at the same time to make the REFRESH happen reliably in Safari or Chrome.  I only tend to check for compatibility via Safari. Sláinte, Allen

Quinn Genealogy website updates

Image
Hello everyone, Allen here.  I hope you are having a fantastic day and getting stuff done that you feel are important.  I have been working on the  https://www.quinngenealogy.org/  website and have made some progress, but you may still encounter errors or things that were once displayed and are now missing.  Don't worry. I am hard at work on this and have been for 12 weeks now. As always reply to this post with questions, comments and any information about your own genealogy that I can help you with. The Lost Ancestors Project is now online. Please stop and find out about this invaluable project that is a non-profit by a professional and accredited photographer Mrs. Wendy Quinn Hutchens a beloved cousin. Please support her endeavor and preserving our histories. Have an awesome day!  Respectfully, Allen

human Y-chromosome or simply yDNA

This is a partial screen scrape from Wikipedia that will give you good information if you are just getting started with Genetic Genealogy focused on  human genetics  of the male line or simply understood as the  human Y-chromosome.  A yDNA haplogroup  is a  haplogroup  defined by  mutations  in the non- recombining  portions of  DNA  from the male-specific  Y chromosome  which I say yDNA versus Y-DNA to be consistent in common nomenclature. Many people within a haplogroup share similar numbers of  short tandem repeats  (STRs) and other types of mutations called  single-nucleotide polymorphisms  (SNPs) which one must examine if they truly desire "to know for certain" of which line they descend in fact, not in mystery or even a rouse. The human Y-chromosome accumulates roughly two mutations per generation. yDNA haplogroups represent major branches of the Y-chromosome  phylogenetic tree...

Relocation of Materials

I do apologize for moving this stuff again.  I needed more creative control than the blog provided and I was being cheap and lazy. I decided I would re-initialize the  QuinnGenealogy.org  website and take advantage of Google Drive's flexibility for dropping files instead of some other long flowing process.  I purchased the domain and hosting from GoDaddy for 20 years, so it will be here for a while and will eventually have all the  photocopies of the overwhelming number of original documents I have collected over the years as well as photos of my line for a few generations. If you want me to Post for your line, so you can discuss things for free with NO ADS, just let me know at QuinnGenealogy.org and I will get you a blog thread going.   Again, free without advertisements of any kind. Let's see, oh yeah.  Within the website infrastructure I intend to place PDF and other files that are less than 30MB in size.  For the 30MB to 500MB PDF ...
